Development geans
The idol group, Newgeans, has a character that represents the group called "TOKKI." Whenever they release a new song, this character appears on the album cover, and there are many goods that utilize the character, so it's very familiar to fans.
Have you heard of Ditto? Recently, a developer created a website where you can customize the rabbit character as you please.
The site is called "Development geans," which is a combination of "developer" and "Newgeans," and many people are creating their own rabbit characters and using them as their KakaoTalk or Instagram profile pictures.
The site was created because @dev_hee, a junior developer, originally received requests to make images like commissions in a developer community, but the demand became too high, so the site was created where individuals can customize their own images! The "TOKKI" character is popular among the public, and it's easy to customize, so everyone seems to be giving it a try! Also, when you go to the website, you can see the images that other people have made, which made me want to create a more unique "Development geans" myself haha. This competitive psychology seems to have played a role in the trend.

Mirror selfies
Lately, it seems like many of my friends and celebrities on Instagram are taking "mirror selfies" in a unique way.
This is a photo taken with the reflection of oneself in the mirror and the phone screen captured at the same time. Celebrities take these pictures in places like practice rooms, while friends take them in cafes or in front of props at a shop.
Instagram accounts with a lot of followers even post collections of celebrity mirror selfies. Comments on these posts often tag friends with responses like, "I should take a picture like this too!" I also started to follow this trend after seeing it.
Do you remember the "selfie stick airplane shot" trend from last year? It was a photo taken with a wide-angle camera mode while holding the phone above your head, which captured your entire body. It seems like the "mirror selfie" is following in the footsteps of this trend.
Cucumber Hot Dog
The new product "Cucumber Hot Dog" of "Merry Hot Dog," released in commemoration of April Fool's Day, is the talk of the town. I learned about it through a famous food Instagram account, where over 2,700 comments were posted. I thought it was a joke for April Fool's Day since cucumber and hot dog seemed like an unimaginable combination, but it turned out to be a real product.
Cucumbers are a polarizing ingredient, with reactions ranging from "Why would you eat that? Is it a punishment?" to "Why isn't it available in our neighborhood?" However, surprisingly, there were many positive reactions. I was curious about it, and since it was a limited edition available only at 13 locations, I tried it and it was surprisingly delicious.
Products like "Peppermint Chicken," "Green Onion Cheese," and "Fruit-Flavored Pokka Chips," which were released as strange foods, had more negative reactions, but this one was interestingly tasty. Every year, I look forward to creative limited-edition snacks like "Cucumber Hot Dog" on April Fool's Day. It feels like an event in the monotonous daily routine, and it's also fun to discuss with friends about likes and dislikes.
